How retirement coaching works

What are the areas you need to focus on to make a smooth and trouble-free transition into a fulfilling and satisfying phase of life?

Christina Harkness is a Certified Retirement Coach who can take you through a tried-and-tested process to help you prepare for retirement – whatever that may mean to you. This process includes helping you establish a clear vision of what you really want and a logical framework for making retirement and life decisions.  You will be able to act with focus, motivation and effectiveness. By careful examination of your attitudes, aspirations and priorities, this transition can be managed and a purposeful retirement plan put in place.

Coaching for individuals and couples

The coaching process is based on the Retirement Options Programme and the Retirement Success Profile (RSP)©. Developed by gerontologist Dr Richard Johnson, Founder of Retirement Options, this has now been administered to over 15,000 people. It follows a three-step plan:

Step one:
you’ll undertake an on-line self-assessment which measures your expectations and level of preparedness against the crucial 15 factors for ensuring a successful transition into retirement. This takes about 15-20 minutes to complete.

Step two: you’ll be sent a personalised report based on your self-assessment which identifies your personal retirement strengths and the areas you may need to work on to improve your readiness for retirement.

Step three: focuses especially on those areas that you regard as most important. Christina then creates and delivers an individually-designed coaching programme to help your focus your attention and energies and prepare for a retirement with meaning, purpose and structure. NB - this programme does not offer financial advice which should be sought from an independent financial advisor.
